As the name suggests, the 720S produces 720PS (710 bhp) of power and 770 Nm of torque from a 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 engine, which is an upgraded version of the V8 that powered the first generation of the Super Series. It is paired to a 7-speed SSG gearbox and power is sent to the rear wheels.

The result is stunning performance. The supercar accelerates from a standstill to a 100 kmph in 2.9 seconds and to 200 kmph in just 7.8 seconds. It has a top speed of 341 kmph.

The 720S has a new Monocage 2 carbon fibre tub. Aluminium alloys are also used in the construction of the chassis and body panels. The 720S also gets McLaren Proactive Chassis Control 2, new suspension and adaptive dampers for better handling.

The interior, which is a mix of fine leather and machined aluminium, has a new Folding Driver Display. It folds away to show only crucial information and gives a better view of the road. The car also gets a new feature called Variable Drift Control where the driver can control how much drift he wants via a sliding bar.
