Nissan's refreshed Qashqai follows much speculation based upon last year’s Qashqai Premium Concept, which featured matt black paint, golden copper-coloured detailing, and soft white Nappa leather with a quilted finish on the seats. At the time, Nissan said that none of these details were set for production.

However, Nissan have added a higher specification trim level called Tekna+ to the facelifted range in-order to satisfy Qashqai owners who have come from more premium brands. It features the seats from last year’s concept car, plus, the new model can also be had with a seven-speaker Bose audio system.

From the outside, the changes to the facelifted Qashqai are subtle. Focusing mainly on tweaks to the lights, bumpers, and an enlargement of what Nissan calls its ‘V-motion’ grill. Under the skin is where most of the changes have taken place. ProPILOT is available as a driver assistance package which will control steering, braking, and acceleration to keep the car in its lane on motorways.

Nissan is quite proud of what its compact crossover has achieved in the last ten years, which has seen it rack up more than 3.3 million world-wide sales, supporting around 45,000 European jobs. Nissan also claims that it invented the crossover segment. Which might be the case if we forget about Honda’s HR-V from 1999.

Sales are expected to start in the summer with prices starting from £19,000.
