MG recently unveiled the ZS EV as its second product in the Indian markets, and the first electric SUV from the brand. Rajeev Chaba, president and MD of MG Motor India said, "We truly believe that the future of the automobile is connected and electric. We are taking our first step to launch the vehicle of the future with an entire ecosystem to support this initiative".
MG ZS is the brand’s global EV that combines the practicality of an SUV with low emissions. The SUV features CCS Type 2 European standard connector for public charging stations and also an AC slow charger. Powered by i-Smart 2.0 technology, the ZS combines hardware and software applications to make driving experience smoother and smarter. It gets smart features like voice recognition, Wi-Fi connectivity and CO2 savings monitor and also charging station information. It comes with a sky roof or panoramic sunroof and an inbuilt air purifier along with a massive touch screen system, similar to the Hector.
MG claims it is the first pure electric internet SUV in the country offering connectivity on the go. It gets a 44.5 kwh battery pack which gives up to 340 km of range on single charge. The ZS EV launch is expected in January 2020 at a price of approximately 25 Lakhs INR.
