BMW's new X7 is its largest and most premium offering in the SUV segment. “Since a seven is in the name, it has to live up to the heritage of the 7 Series and have the same luxury feeling”, said X7 product manager Nina McFadden.
The seven-seat SUV will be offered globally with four engines. Three come to the UK. All are 3.0-litre in-line sixes: a 261bhp single-turbo diesel, a quad-turbo diesel with 294bhp, and a 335bhp turbo-petrol motor. All are mated to an eight-speed auto box and xDrive four-wheel-drive.
The X7 will be loaded with a long list of features and promises segment-leading interior space. UK prices start around £72,000, going up to £87,000 for the range-topping M50d. Deliveries begin in March 2019.
